Our annual shoe drive in support of the homeless started as an event in our New York stores in 1992 and soon expanded to become nationwide. For some drives (like this one), we also collected clothing. But this year had a difference: we asked well-known celebrities to donate personal items to our online auction in support of Help USA. We displayed the items in our store windows and encouraged people to go online and bid. It was all about less talk, more auction.
