January 2013
We partnered with the Sundance Institute to create this short film to celebrate the hard work of the volunteers at the 2013 Film Festival. Written by Kenneth Cole Productions and directed by Ricki Stern and Annie Sundberg of Break Thru Films (directors of the documentaries Knuckleball! and Joan Rivers: A Piece of Work), the piece is a follow up to our 2012 film starring Derek Waters (the writer and creator of Comedy Central's "Drunk History"). In the spot, Waters leads his army of dedicated volunteers to help Alan Cumming, Rachel Dratch, and Ed Burns with their minor crises to prove that no job is too big or too small for “The real stars of Sundance.” The film debuted on Volunteer Appreciation Day at all film screenings and theaters at the Festival. Signage featuring a QR code enabled people to watch the vignette on their mobile devices and reminded them to thank the volunteers for their tireless efforts.
