The Harry Belafonte Black Liberation Speaker Series
Black History Month 2020
Harry Belafonte has been a dear friend, fellow activist, and influential mentor to Kenneth Cole for many years. To help continue the momentum of the Black Lives Matter movement, in partnership with the New York Public Library (NYPL), we created The Harry Belafonte Black Liberation Speaker Series. By bringing together influential thought-leaders around racism and equality, we hoped to enrich the advancement of Black culture and Harry’s mission to provide open, free, and equal access to education and opportunity. The impressive speakers were all accomplished experts and scholars from the worlds of activism, journalism, literature, poetry, and entertainment.
