Spring 2015 Billboard
Our goal was to point out that guns are too accessible in the US, especially when compared to the scarcity of mental health resources. This ignited a dialogue around mass shootings and mental illness, and by conflating the two we were accused of suggesting that everyone with a mental health condition was a potential shooter. This was obviously not our intention, but we were contacted by the National Alliance for Mental Illness (NAMI) and we began to build a relationship to support more mental health efforts. Soon, we were compelled to make mental health one of our primary brand causes, and Kenneth went on to found The Mental Health Coalition. Sometimes, clarity can be inspired by confusion.
